It is the first complex of the Ottoman Empire. It was built by second Ottoman Sultan Orhan Bey between 1339-1340 in the present-day downtown Heykel district.
Orhan Ghazi Mosque and Emir Khan which are situated in the complex are still used with the same functions. The bathhouse of the complex is turned to Aynali Carsi where antique, folkloric, and local goods are sold.
The almshouse of the complex went to ruin in time and the present Historical City Hall was built instead of it.
